Helping those in need is not new to Centurion Service Group, but their large effort during the holiday season went above what they could have imagined when they began supporting local charities.
This holiday season Centurion Service Group and its staff decided they could and wanted to do more for the charities they support. These charities include: the Primo Center for Women and Children, Mercy Home for Boys and Girls, La Rabida Children’s Hospital, Hire Heroes USA, Heart for Africa, ARK Foundation, Project Perfect World, Tori Wilensky Foundation and the Wounded Warrior Project.
A few of the donations were monetary while others were gifts of needed items. “We wanted to help out charities close to home in the Chicagoland area,” said Kylen Cieslak, Director of Buyer Development. “We loaded up our Centurion truck and made a special delivery to the Primo Center for Women and Children and Mercy Home for Boys and Girls.”
Centurion supplied the Primo Center for Women and Children with fresh sheets for the families, diapers, toys and games for the children and toiletries for the mothers. The Primo Center for Women and Children provides abused and homeless families with a place of warmth and shelter in one of Chicago’s most impoverished neighborhoods.
The Mercy Home for Boys and Girls received the essentials it needs to run smoothly, including toiletries, clothing, and bedding. The Mercy Home for Boys and Girls has been a safe haven for teenagers in crisis since 1887. By providing residential and mentoring programs, teenagers dealing with abuse, neglect, or poverty have come to depend on the home.
Centurion also purchased grocery items for the ARK Foundation’s food pantry. The ARK Foundation helps struggling Chicagoland families, by providing social and medical services within a framework of Jewish values and laws. The ARK aims to stabilize the situations of the approximately 4,000 people they help so that these inpiduals can thrive on their own.
